Advent Orange Almond Tart
- 9/16 cup butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg plus 1 egg yolk
- 1/2 orange
- 1 5/8 cups flour
- 15/16 cup ground almonds
- 1 cup confectioners sugar
- 1/2 orange
- 2 oranges
- 7/8 cup confectioners sugar
- 3 tablespoons orange juice
- In a medium bowl, combine butter sugar, egg, egg yolk, orange zest and flour. Mix everything until well incorporated.
- Divide the dough in half, roll out the first half and place it in the bottom of a tart dish.
- Prepare the filling mixing the almonds, sugar, orange juice and zest.
- Spread the dough with almond mixture.
- Roll out the second half of dough and place on top of the almond mixture.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes at 150 degrees Celsius .
- Prepare the glaze. Mix orange juice with confectioners sugar and brush the tart right after coming out of the oven.
- Cut the tart while it is still hot. Let it cool before serving.
