Chicken With Grilled Onions And Sumac
- 3 pounds chicken breast boiled with a couple of Bay leaves, salt
- 3 onions diced, seasoned and grilled
- 2 eggs for brushing the top of the dough
- 3 tea spoons of sumac seasoning
- 1 package pastry dough puff, about 12 large pieces
- 1 lemon
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- pickles or peppers for garnish
- Boil the chicken (with seasonings) and shred.
- Combine chopped onions & 1/2 of the sumac seasoning and the olive oil in a saucepan; caramelize the onions.
- Add the remainder of the seasoning to the chicken.
- Combine chicken with onions and cook for about 5 minutes
- Place chicken on the dough and fold to any shape you prefer. Press tight so chicken stays in. Brush with eggs- I like to be generous with the eggs on top to give it beautiful golden color
- Preheat oven to 375 Fahrenheit. Bake about 20 minutes, or until golden.
