Dog Biscuits(For Man'S Best Friend)
- 2 c. whole wheat flour
- 1/2 c. rye or buckwheat flour
- 1/2 c. brewer's yeast
- 1 c. bulgur
- 1/2 c. cornmeal
- 1/4 c. parsley flakes
- 1/4 c. dry milk
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 c. chicken broth
- 1 egg, beaten, with 1 Tbsp. milk (as glaze)
- 1 tsp. dry yeast
- Combine flours, yeast, bulgur, cornmeal, parsley flakes and milk in a large bowl.
- In small bowl, combine yeast and warm water and stir until dissolved.
- Add chicken broth.
- Stir liquid into dry ingredients and mix well with hands.
- Dough will be stiff so add more water if necessary.
- Roll dough 1/4-inch thickness on floured surface.
- Cut with knife or doggie bone cookie cutter. Transfer cut biscuits to cookie sheet and brush lightly with egg glaze.
- Bake at 300u0b0 for 45 minutes.
- Turn off heat and let biscuits dry out in oven overnight.
- Yield:
- 6 to 7 dozen biscuits.
