The Best Banana Cream Pie Recipe

  1. Melt chocolate chips in 15 second increments until smooth. Spread into the bottom of your pie crust and allow to cool.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine milk and vanilla, whisking for 3 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch, yolks and salt.
  4. Gradually blend milk into your sugar mixture, careful not to curdle the egg.
  5. Return mixture to saucepan and whisk continuously until thick {about 4 minutes}.
  6. Whisk in butter. Remove from heat and fold in banana. Pour into pie crust.
  7. Top with toffee crumbles, saving a little to garnish.
  8. In a large mixing bowl, beat heavy cream until stiff. Gradually blend in powdered sugar and top pie. Chill 2 hours.
