The Best Collard Greens

  1. Fresh collard greens should be soaked in warm water and cleaned well. Already cleaned collard greens continue to next step.
  2. Add the slices of bacon in pot and let cook for about 5mins or until it starts to turn brown.ndd the cleaned collard greens, chopped yellow onion, salt, black pepper, garlic cloves, sugar, coconut oil, the Accent and add enough water so that when you press down on the greens in the pot the water comes up.
  3. The water does not need to cover the greens completely. Cover the pot and boil the greens continously at medium high heat.
  4. After 2 hours check the greens you may need to add about 1 cup of water if it is low. The greens will be welted.
  5. Boil an additional 1 hour, the juice in the pot should partially cover the greens.
  6. You can leave on low heat until ready to serve.
  7. Enjoy.
