Crispy Apple Crumble
- 5 pippin apples large "Cox's Orange, peeled and cut into large cubes
- 5/8 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 9/16 cups rolled oats
- 2/3 cup butter
- 5/8 cup superfine sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- whipped cream
- cinnamon
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a frying pan, heat the chopped walnuts for 3 to 4 minutes to prevent them from becoming soft during cooking.
- Place the nuts, rolled oats, butter, sugar, and flour in a large bowl. With your fingers, mix the ingredients until you achieve a slightly thick and sandy consistency.
- Place apples in an oven dish and drizzle the maple syrup over the apples. Mix, then top with the crumble mixture.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Serve warm with whipped cream and cinnamon.
