Vietnamese Fried Rice
- 2 c. rice
- 1 lb. pork
- 1 lb. shrimp
- 1 pkg. frozen peas
- 1 small onion
- 3 tsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- pinch of black pepper
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- pinch of Accent (optional)
- Wash the
- rice.
- Cook rice in 3 cups water.
- Chop onion and cook
- in frypan containing 1 tablespoon oil.
- Place small pieces oftork in oil.
- After seasoning with salt, pepper and sugar, fry for
- 10
- minutes.temovetork and cook shrimp in same manner for only 5 minutes.
- Remove shrimp from pan.
- Cook peas.
- Use another skillet to fry the cooked rice in 1 tablespoon of
- oil. Add
- pork,thrimptnd peas to fried rice and cook on
- medium heat
- for 10 minutes.
- You may add a pinch of Accent, if
- desired. Yellow food coloring may be added at the time rice is being cooked to add a more appetizing color.
