Strawberry Cheese Pastry Tarts

  1. Combine 3 tablespoons sugar and 1 tablespoon water in a small pan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves and glaze just comes to a boil. Use hot.
  2. 1. With a pastry blender or your fingers, work butter into flour until fine crumbs form. Stir in sour cream to stiff dough.
  3. 2. Cover dough. Chill at least 1 hour.
  4. 3. Cut dough in half. Roll out one portion at a time on a floured board to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into 2 equal rectangles.
  5. 4. Reroll scraps to make 2 more rectangles.
  6. 5. Arrange rectangles on an ungreased rimmed baking pan. Brush tops with sugar glaze.
  7. 6. Bake at 400 degrees F. for 15 to 20 minutes. Transfer to a rack to cool.
  8. 7. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly on pastries. Arrange sliced strawberries on tops.
  9. 8. Melt chocolate in a small pan, stirring constantly. With a spoon, drizzle chocolate over strawberries.
