Tarte Flambee

  1. Place the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large bowl or in a food processor.
  2. Add the milk while mixing the ingredients, then add the butter and continue to blend until it forms a smooth, non-sticky elastic dough. (If too sticky, add more flour, a little at a time. If too dry, add more milk, very gradually.)
  3. Cover and leave to rest for 30 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the creme fraiche with the cream cheese, egg, and cornflour until smooth.
  5. Add the onions and caraway seeds, and stir. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.
  6. Preheat the oven to 180C.
  7. Line a pizza tray with parchment paper.
  8. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and shape into a circle.
  9. Pinch the edges slightly so that the topping does not spill out.
  10. Place on the pizza tray and add the bacon, then pour over the onion and creme fraiche mixture.
  11. Bake for 30-40 minutes until set and the edges are golden.
