Prune Nut Cake
- 2 c. sifted self-rising flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 3/4 c. salad oil
- 3 whole eggs
- 1/4 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. prunes
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. buttermilk
- 1 stick margarine
- 1 tsp. white corn syrup
- 1 box Duncan Hines yellow cake mix
- 1 small box vanilla instant pudding and pie filling mix
- 2/3 c. oil (Mazola)
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. brandied fruit (do not use the juice)
- 1 c. nuts (pecans)
- Combine the cake mix, pie filling, eggs and oil.
- Mix well. The mixture will be stiff.
- Add the brandied fruit and the nuts. Bake in a tube pan at 350u0b0 for 60 minutes.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 20 or 25 minutes.
