Anise Sugar Cookies
- 1/2 cup softened butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 egg white
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 teaspoons anise extract
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- In a large bowl beat butter and sugar till blended and creamy. Beat in all eggs, vanilla and anise extract.
- On low speed, beat in flour and baking powder.Shape dough into 4 balls and wrap each ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Then roll out each ball between 2 sheets of wax paper and freeze.Putting them onto a large cookie sheet works for the freezer.
- Freeze overnight or up to 2 weeks longer, if not making them then. Cut out cookies with cookie cutters,
