Chocolate Brownies

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Line and grease a square cake pan.
  3. Melt the butter and chocolate and leave to cool.
  4. In a bowl, beat the sugar, egg and milk.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, vanilla, salt, and baking powder. Add the butter and chocolate to the liquid mixture. Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients, a little at a time, and mix well until it forms a smooth batter.
  6. Place the mixture in a pan, smooth until level and bake for 30 minutes; the cake should be still soft and moist.
  7. Leave to cool and then cut into square chunks.
  8. Cover each piece with chocolate icing.
