Almond Pie
- 2 1/16 cups wheat flour
- 9/16 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 5/8 cups ground almonds
- 1 1/16 cups sliced almonds
- 6 eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 lemon juice and zest
- Knead flour and butter until soft dough forms.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Knead well.
- Dust with flour so that dough doesn't stick to hands.
- Line removable bottom plate of a springform pan with dough.
- Preheat oven to 180u0b0C (approximately 350u0b0F).
- Refrigerate for about 10 minutes.
- Melt butter and mix with sugar, eggs, ground almonds, lemon zest and juice.
- Pour mixture into pan. Bake in preheated oven for about 10 minutes.
- Remove and sprinkle with slivered almonds.
- Return to oven and bake until golden for about 10 additional minutes.
- Let cool in pie dish.
- Carefully remove from pan.
