Karen'S Swiss Steak
- 1 or 2 large pieces of boneless round steak
- flour
- vegetable oil
- 1 pkg. Durkee au jus packet
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can beefy mushroom soup
- 1 can water
- 1/2 c. milk
- salt and pepper
- Have meat put through cuber at meat department once.
- Cut into serving pieces.
- Dip in flour and brown in vegetable oil; salt and pepper if desired.
- Remove meat from frying pan and put in 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Prepare packet of au jus according to directions and add to drippings in frying pan.
- To this add soups, water and milk. Heat through and mix well.
- Pour over meat.
- Cover tightly and bake at 325u0b0 for 2 hours or until meat is very tender.
- If using 2 pieces of meat, you may need larger pan and extra water or milk.
