Pepperoni Pizza Melt
- 1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 30 slices pepperoni
- 6 ounces tomato paste weight
- 6 ounces water fluid
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon basil
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 12 slices sandwich bread Your Favourite
- 12 slices american cheese
- 1 teaspoon butter
- Heat the oil in a large skillet and cook the pepperoni.
- Combine the tomato paste and water until smooth. Fold in the salt, spices and sugar into the tomato mixture.
- Spread the tomato sauce on one side of each slice of bread.
- Assemble the sandwiches:
- Place a slice of cheese onto the tomato-spread side of each slice of bread.
- Place 5 slices of pepperoni onto one side of each sandwich, and close the sandwiches.
- Melt the butter on a griddle and toast sandwiches on both sides until crispy and golden brown. Use a weight or sandwich press to press the sandwiches onto the griddle.
