Sweet And Sour Pork, Chicken Or Tofu

  1. Brown meat in large frying pan or Dutch oven with shortening. Add water, bouillon and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Mix well. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
  2. Meanwhile, drain juice from pineapple and combine with brown sugar, cornstarch, vinegar, soy sauce and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until thick. Add to meat mixture along with pineapple chunks, green pepper and onion. Mix and heat 2 or 3 minutes. Serve over rice and chow mein noodles.
