Olive Oil And Anise Cakes (Torta De Aceite)
- 5 1/4 cups pastry flour
- 1 3/8 tablespoons sugar syrup invert, or 45 gr. sugar
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 5/16 cups virgin olive oil
- 1/3 milliliter anise extract
- 1 1/16 tablespoons fresh yeast
- 1 1/4 teaspoons star anise
- 3/4 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1/8 tablespoon salt
- 3/4 tablespoon sugar
- Place the flour in a bowl. Add the liquid ingredients and beat.
- Add the solid ingredients and mix for 2 minutes.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest to double its volume.
- Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
- Place the dough on a flat surface and flatten using a rolling pin. Divide into portions and stretch to 3-millimeter thick 15-centimeter diameter circles.
