Deep Dish Pizza Chicago Style
- 1 lb. hot/sweet sausage, diced
- 1 (16 oz.) pkg. hot roll mix
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 (15 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce
- 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 1/4 tsp. oregano
- 8 oz. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 3 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
- 8 oz. Cheddar cheese, shredded
- Heat sausages and 1/4 cup water to boil.
- Cover and simmer 5 minutes.
- Continue to cook, turning sausage frequently until well browned (about 20 minutes).
- Drain sausage on paper towel.
- Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Mix hot roll mix (and yeast) from package with oil and 1 1/2 cups hot water to form soft dough.
- Knead on lightly floured surface, 5 minutes.
- Pat dough onto bottom and halfway up sides of pan to make a stand-up edge.
- Cover.
- Let rise at room temperature, 15 minutes.
