Butter Mints
- 1/4 c. whipping cream
- 1 tsp. mint flavoring
- 1 tsp. butter flavoring
- 1 stick butter (1/2 c.)
- 1 box powdered sugar
- food coloring
- Scald 1/4 cup of whipping cream.
- Melt 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter.
- Add 1 teaspoon mint flavoring and 1 teaspoon butter flavoring to melted butter.
- Add food coloring of choice and intensity to butter mixture.
- Add scalded whipping cream to 1 box powdered sugar.
- Mix together, using your hands to knead into ball stage.
- Add butter mixture to powdered sugar mixture.
- Mix well. If necessary, add more sugar until mixture is well formed. Separate mixture into smaller balls and roll out into long strings.
- Cut with a knife and place on a dish to air dry for at least 1 1/2 hours.
- Place in tightly sealed container.
