Fragrant Fusilli With Crispy Sausage
- 11/16 pound fusilli pasta
- 7/8 pound potatoes
- 3/4 pound sausage
- 1 tablespoon fennel seeds
- 6 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- rosemary
- black pepper freshly cracked
- salt
- Peel the potatoes, rinse them well and cut into pieces.
- Remove the sausage casing and break it up into pieces.
- Fill a pot with water and salt, when the water boils add the potatoes, the fennel seeds, and the pasta and cook until done.
- In the meantime, chop the rosemary and set it aside.
- Heat the oil in a large pan, add the sausage and brown it well.
- Drain the pasta and the potatoes and add them to the sausage in the pan.
- Season to taste with salt, a generous amount of freshly cracked pepper, some rosemary, and saute quickly on high heat.
- Serve immediately.
