Hershey'S 5 Minute Recipe Deep Dark Chocolate Cake
- 1 3/4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. boiling water
- Combine dry ingredients in large mixing bowl.
- Add remaining ingredients, except boiling water.
- Beat at moderate speed 2 minutes.
- Remove from mixer; stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).
- Pour into 2 greased and floured 9 or 8-inch loaf pans or a 13 x 9-inch or spring-form pan with center horn.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 to 35 minutes for layers, 35 to 40 minutes for 13 x 9-inch pan, etc., until cake tester comes out clean when inserted in center of cake.
- Cool 10 minutes on rack.
- Remove from pans; cool completely. Top with favorite frosting.
