Chili-Beef Flavored Turkey
- 2 lb. ground turkey
- 1 can stewed tomatoes
- 1 medium size onion, minced
- 4 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 2 oz. Wyler's beef crystals
- 1 qt. water
- salt as desired
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- Louisiana hot sauce
- Brown turkey, stirring frequently to prevent large lumps. Add remaining ingredients; bring to boil, lower heat and cook slowly for 1 1/2 hours.
- You may want to add additional water for desired consistency.
- Also you might add more beef crystals for a more pronounced beef flavor.
- Stir frequently.
- Use the Louisiana hot sauce only if you want hot seasoned chili.
- Personally, I do not use it!
- I use a 5-quart heavy pot to prepare this dish.
