Stovetop Apple Crisp
- 5 1/2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons pecans or walnuts, chopped
- 3 tablespoons oatmeal not instant quick or regular
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 cup tart apples crisp, sliced, peeled if desired
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 tablespoons golden raisins
- 1 tablespoon sugar optional depending on the tartness of the apples
- 1 tablespoon white wine
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Melt 1 1/2 Tbsp butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Stir in nuts, oatmeal, and brown sugar, and cook until mixture begins to brown about 5-6 minutes. Transfer to a plate. Wipe out skillet a bit and return it to the burner.
- Saute apples and raisins in 1 Tbsp butter over medium heat to soften about 5 minutes. Stir in sugar, wine, and cinnamon; simmer 2 minutes. Spoon into bowls
- Serve apples topped with crunchy topping. Add a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream to really top it off.
