Pork Steaks In Onion Sauce
- olive oil to taste
- 1 onion large
- 3 garlic cloves
- 3 parsley sprigs
- 10 pork steaks thinly sliced
- salt to taste
- 1/2 can crushed tomatoes
- 1 glass white wine
- In a saucepan with a wide base, heat the olive oil, and add the sliced onion, chopped garlic, and parsley sprigs. Cook on medium heat. When the olive oil starts to sizzle, distribute the pork steaks over the onion (it doesn't matter if some overlap), season with salt, cover with the tomatoes, and sprinkle with wine. Cover the pan, and let simmer. After about 10 minutes, uncover, and baste the pork steaks in the sauce.
- Cover again, and cook for another 10 to 15 minutes. Do not allow the sauce to dry out.
- During the last 5 minutes, check whether you need to add a little water or wine.
