Cocoa Cream Pie
- 8-inch baked pastry shell
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. Hershey's cocoa
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. milk
- 2 egg yolks, beaten
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- sweetened whipped cream
- Prepare pastry shell
- and
- cool.
- In
- a medium saucepan stir together the sugar, cocoa, cornstarch and salt.
- Gradually stir in milk.
- Cook
- over
- medium heat stirring constantly until mixture is thickened and bubbly.
- Boil 1 minute;
- remove from heat. Gradually stir
- about half of the hot filling into yolks.
- Return all to saucepan;
- bring to a gentle boil.
- Cook and stir 1 minute. Remove
- from
- heat.
- Stir
- in
- butter
- and vanilla.
- Pour into pastry shell.
