Apple Streusel
- 8 tart apples peeled, sliced
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter soft, or margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup bisquick
- 1 cup bisquick
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons butter cold, or margarine
- nuts cup sliced
- vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
- In a large bowl toss apples with cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Place in a large (4- to 6-quart) greased crockpot. In another bowl, combine milk, butter or margarine, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract and 1/2 cup Bisquick. Spoon over apples.
- In another bowl, combine 1 cup Bisquick and brown sugar. Cut in margarine until crumbly. Add nuts. Sprinkle the streusel topping over the apples in the crockpot. Cover and cook on LOW 6 to 7 hours or until the apples are tender. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
