Texas Trash(From The Files Of Diana Miller Crutchfield)
- 1 large box Wheat Chex
- 1 large box Corn Chex
- 1 large box alphabet cereal
- 1 box stick pretzels
- 1 large can nuts
- 1 lb. oleo plus 1/2 c. bacon drippings
- 3 Tbsp. savory salt
- 3 Tbsp. garlic powder
- 3 Tbsp. celery salt
- 1 bottle Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp. liquid smoke
- Mix first 5 ingredients in a large roasting pan.
- Melt 1 pound oleo plus 1/2 cup bacon drippings and add the spices, Worcestershire sauce and liquid smoke.
- Pour liquid over cereals, etc. and stir well.
- Bake slowly at about 200u0b0, stirring frequently for 1 1/2 hours or until mixture feels dry.
- When completely cool, store in containers and it will keep indefinitely.
