Savory Chocolate Breadsticks
- 2 cups flour
- 9/16 cup water
- 2/3 tablespoon yeast
- 13/16 teaspoon salt
- 1 7/8 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon malt barley
- 3 3/4 tablespoons cocoa powder
- salt Himalayan pink
- In a bowl, make a well, add the flour, water, yeast, salt, oil, malt, and cocoa powder. Mix together and beat for 8 to 10 minutes using a hand mixer. The mixture should not be too soft.
- Shape into a loaf and roll out to a rectangle. Brush with olive oil.
- Cover and allow to rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
- With a sharp knife, cut strips of dough from the short side of the rectangle about 1-inch thick.
- Gently roll into breadsticks by hand.
- Sprinkle with pink salt.
- Place on a baking sheet spaced apart.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
