Aunt Sara'S Apple Pie

  1. Peel and slice apples
  2. and
  3. place
  4. in
  5. a
  6. heavy
  7. covered saucepan, adding only enough
  8. water
  9. to
  10. steam
  11. apples a tender crisp (2 tablespoons will
  12. be enough).
  13. Add lemon juice.
  14. Watch carefully, do not overcook.
  15. Add sugar to which salt and spices have been blended.
  16. Add margarine, stir lightly to blend.
  17. Beat eggs until foamy, add to
  18. apple
  19. mixture lightly and quickly to distribute
  20. eggs without uneven

  24. Pour
  25. into unbaked pie shell and bake at 325u0b0 until well done, about 50 to 60 minutes.
  26. This pie has a partially caramelized topping which is very good.
  27. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
