Giant Financier With Blueberries And Almonds

  1. Preheat oven to 170 degrees Celsius (340 degrees Farenheit)
  2. In a small saucepan melt the butter over low heat until it has a slight smell of hazelnuts and takes a little amber color.
  3. Pass through a fine sieve, set it aside.
  4. In a small salad bowl, mix together the flour, sugar and almond powder.
  5. Whisk the egg whites with a fork, and add them to the flour mixture.
  6. Gradually add the melted butter, mix well.
  7. Pour half the mixture into a 20x20 cm square pan greased and lined with parchment paper.
  8. Sprinkle with frozen blueberries, and add the rest of the batter.
  9. Sprinkle with slivered almonds.
  10. Bake for about 30 minutes until lightly browned.
  11. Let it cool before cutting.
  12. Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.
