Giant Financier With Blueberries And Almonds
- 3/4 cup butter
- 7 2/3 tablespoons flour
- 160 sugar gramsconfectioner's
- 13/16 cup ground almonds
- 4 large egg whites
- 3 tablespoons frozen blueberries
- slivered almonds
- confectioner's sugar for decoration
- Preheat oven to 170 degrees Celsius (340 degrees Farenheit)
- In a small saucepan melt the butter over low heat until it has a slight smell of hazelnuts and takes a little amber color.
- Pass through a fine sieve, set it aside.
- In a small salad bowl, mix together the flour, sugar and almond powder.
- Whisk the egg whites with a fork, and add them to the flour mixture.
- Gradually add the melted butter, mix well.
- Pour half the mixture into a 20x20 cm square pan greased and lined with parchment paper.
- Sprinkle with frozen blueberries, and add the rest of the batter.
- Sprinkle with slivered almonds.
- Bake for about 30 minutes until lightly browned.
- Let it cool before cutting.
- Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.
