Baked, Grilled, Or Pan-Fried Whole Fish
- 1 whole fish
- garlic salt to taste
- 1 inch ginger sliced skinless
- 4 sprigs parsley or 2 stalks chopped scallions, discard roots and wilted ends
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- TO BAKE:nn a baking pan, add the following: Fish, Garlic Salt and optional: Ginger; coat the outside of the fish and its cavity evenly using a spoon.
- Marinate for about 1 hour, or cover and put it in the refrigerator overnight.
- Place the baking pan with the marinated fish in the oven. Bake at 425 degrees for about 20 minutes or until the fish skin is crispy and flesh is opaque. Remove and discard any burned ginger.
- Garnish with Parsley or Scallion.
- Use Dipping Sauce, if desired for the baked fish.
- TO GRILLED / PAN-FRY:nn a plate, add the following: Fish, Garlic Salt and optional: Ginger; coat the outside of the fish and its cavity evenly using a spoon.
- Marinate for about 1 hour, or cover and put it in the refrigerator overnight.
- Preheat a pan or grill over high heat until it's hot. Add the Cooking Oil (about 1 cm to fill the entire bottom of the pan).
- Turn heat to low-medium. Add the marinated Fish. Wait until the fish is crispy before turning it over to cook the other side (cook until all sides are crispy and the fish flesh is opaque). Remove and discard any burned ginger.
- Garnish with Parsley or Scallion.
- Use Dipping Sauce, if desired for the pan-fried or grilled fish.
