Chinese Inspired Sesame Soy Chicken With Vegetables And Rice Recipe
- 4 chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1 cup water orange juice optional
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 garlic cloves Grated fresh
- 2 teaspoons ginger fresh grated
- 1 chilli powder if you like it hot
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 4 carrots
- 1 red pepper
- 1 green pepper
- 1 yellow onion
- 1 purple onion
- Start with boiling your favourite fragrant rice (currently mine is Jasmine rice)nnSlice your chicken into cubes (so we have some different look than slices what we normally do 1-2 inches.) neat your pan on medium-high heat and fry them on your sesame seed (1 tablespoon)oil until they are all seared (they do not have to bee cooked all way since they will be cooked again). Set them aside to rest. nnTIP: for a stronger taste and better flavours stir fry also your garlic, ginger and chilli with your meat. 1 minute before your meat is finished.
- Cut your vegetables into your desired shapes and fry them on your pan on medium heat with 1 tablespoon of sesame seed oil. Fry for about 5 minutes. Start with your carrots and stir for a minute, ten add your bells stir for a minute and in the end add your onions and stir well for 3 minutes. nnNow in a bowl combine your water (orange juice), cornstarch, honey, soy sauce and also your chilli, garlic and ginger if you did not add it earlier to the chicken meat. If you add it now our meal will have a milder taste. nnNow decide if you would like your sauce with the vegetables or you will serve it on the side. I have personally done both always depends what I feel for but if you have children I recommend to add it to the sauce since they seem not be too keen nn seeing just the vegetables on their own.
- In the pan add your chicken bites, vegetables and on medium heat add your sauce. Stir well and let it all combine and also the sauce to thicken. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. You will leave it to bubble and the flavours to combine for about 5 - 10 min. Your meal is ready.n\nServe it with your rice or rice noodles. Sprinkle with added sesame seeds to decorate.n\nEnjoy.
