Mocha Walnut Cookies
- 12 oz. Toll House morsels
- 2 tsp. boiling water
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
- 2 Tbsp. instant coffee
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Melt 1/2 cup of morsels over hot water. Stir until smooth; cool to room temperature.
- In small cup dissolve coffee in 2 teaspoons boiling water.
- Set aside.
- In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt.
- Set aside.
- In large bowl combine butter, sugars and coffee.
- Beat until creamy.
- Add egg and melted morsels.
- Mix well.
- Gradually add flour mixture.
- Stir in walnuts and remaining morsels.
- Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
- Allow to cool 2 to 3 minutes before removing.
- Yields 24 (3-inch) cookies.
