Sweet And Sour Meat Balls
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 8 oz. can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 c. dry bread crumbs
- 4 tsp. beef flavor instant bouillon
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 c. lemon juice
- 1/4 c. catsup
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- chopped parsley (optional)
- In a large bowl, combine meat, water chestnuts, eggs, bread crumbs, bouillon and Worcestershire sauce.
- Mix well.
- Shape into 1 1/4-inch meat balls.
- In a large skillet, brown meat balls, a few at a time.
- Remove from pan and pour off fat.
- In a medium bowl, combine remaining ingredients except for parsley; mix well.
- Pour into skillet.
- Cook over medium heat until sauce thickens.
- Reduce heat and add meat balls.
- Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.
