Carole'S Peanut Butter Cake
- 1 yellow cake mix (Duncan Hines)
- 1 c. brown sugar, packed lightly
- 2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. milk
- pinch of salt
- 1 c. extra crunchy peanut butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Bake cake according to package directions in a 9 x 13 inch pan.
- Leave it in the pan and punch holes all over it with the handle of a wooden spoon.
- Mix the brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt and milk in a heavy boiler and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat just enough to keep it from boiling over.
- Stir occasionally. Cook almost to a soft ball stage and add the peanut butter. Continue cooking and rapidly stirring to break the peanut butter up.
- Cook to a soft ball stage.
- Add vanilla and stir.
- Pour over the cake and let set for a few minutes.
- Serve warm.
