Cut-Out Raspberry Jam Christmas Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Whisk the egg with sugar together.
  3. Mix in the melted and cooled butter.
  4. Stir in the flour. Form a ball and let refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  5. Remove the dough from the refrigerator and let it warm up to room temperature for 5 minutes. Roll out on a lightly floured surface.
  6. Cut out the shapes with a cookie cutter.
  7. 2 pieces must be cut per cookie: the first one intact and the second in which you'll cut out a hole in the center with a small cookie cutter.
  8. Count the cookies to make sure each one has a pair.
  9. Bake for about 10 to 12 minutes.
  10. Remove from oven, and sprinkle the cookies with the hollow center with powdered sugar.
  11. Let cool and brush the uncut cookies with jam.
  12. Glue the half with the hollow center on top of the the half with the jam.
  13. Store in an airtight container for a few days.
