Holiday Fruit Bars

  1. Cream butter; add 1 cup sugar and cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each.
  2. Add sifted dry ingredients, nuts and fruits.
  3. Mix well and spread batter in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  4. Bake in moderate oven at 350u0b0 for about 45 minutes.
  5. Let stand until cold or overnight.
  6. Then cut in 3 x 1-inch bars and roll each bar lightly in very fine granulated sugar (store in airtight container).
  7. (Try scissors in hot water to cut fruit.)
  8. Keeps well, if hidden!
