Asian Cornish Hens
- 4 cornish game hens
- 1/2 pound mushrooms fresh
- 1 cup rice regular uncooked
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup celery chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 can chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Wash hens and pat dry.
- Saute margarine and mushrooms.
- Add chicken broth and rice.
- Boil and cover; reduce heat and cook 20 minutes.
- Stuff hens with rice mixture.
- Place breast side up.
- Brush with margarine.
- Bake 1 - 1/2 hours, brushing with margarine every 20 minutes.
- The last 15 minutes, in saucepan, put sugar, soy sauce, ginger and cornstarch.
- Bring to a boil.
- Brush hens with mixture and put in oven for 20 minutes longer.
