Eggnog Canelé
- 1 medium egg
- 1 egg white
- 7/8 cup caster sugar
- 5 1/16 tablespoons oil
- 1 cup eggnog
- 6 3/4 tablespoons milk
- 2 cups plain flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 2/3 cups icing sugar
- 3 drops green food colouring
- Preheat oven to 325u0b0F. Whisk whole egg, sugar, oil, eggnog and milk. Sift together flour and baking powder then fold in. Divide between 10 - 3 oz canele molds and bake for 25-30 mins. Allow to cool in pan for 5 mins then remove and cool completely on a wire rack.
- Mix powdered sugar with egg white until smooth, adding 2-3 tbsp water to thin if necessary. Color 1/2 mixture with green food coloring. Coat 1/2 caneles with green icing and remainder with white. Set aside until dry. Transfer remaining icing to piping bags fitted with small plain tips and decorate iced caneles.
