Pasta With Sardines
- 8 sardines medium, in fillets
- 1 garlic clove peeled
- 1/2 head broccoli cut into florets
- 200 grams whole grain pasta
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch fennel seeds
- 1 ounce almonds chopped
- 1 lime
- 1/2 lime
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley minced
- Rinse the sardines, pat dry, and chop.
- Mince the garlic.
- Steam the broccoli until just tender. Set aside to cool.
- Cook the pasta per package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a saucepan and add the garlic and sardines. Season with a pinch of salt and a pinch of fennel seeds and cook until the sardines are golden brown.
- Add the almonds, broccoli, and pasta. Mix carefully and add the lime juice and zest. Season with a pinch of salt, black pepper, and sprinkle with parsley to garnish.
