Spice Christmas Cookies

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius
  2. In a bowl beat the butter, brown sugar, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, cardamom, and vanilla.
  3. Stir gradually adding water.
  4. Mix and gradually add the flour and baking soda. Do not overwork the dough.
  5. If dough is too sticky, cool for 20 minutes.
  6. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and cut out shapes with a cookie cutter.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes.
  8. Cookies will harden as they cool.
  9. Keep for one week in an airtight container.
