Marbled Brownies With Almond Mousse
- 3/4 cup butter sliced
- 1 3/16 cups dark chocolate chopped
- 1 7/8 cups sugar
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 4 eggs slightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract liquid
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon yeast
- 6 1/2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 3/4 tablespoons mousse almond
- 4 3/4 tablespoons dark chocolate
- 1 3/4 tablespoons butter
- 7/8 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons hot water
- 5 chocolate covered almonds
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Brownie Preparation:
- Butter the brownie pan.
- Melt the butter and the chocolate together. Cool.
- Once cooled, stir in sugar, lightly beaten eggs, and vanilla. Mix.
- Then add the sifted flour, yeast, and finally the powdered cocoa. Mix until smooth.
- Pour batter into the prepared brownie pan.
- Place small piles of almond mousse on the batter, then use a knife to create a marble-like pattern in the mousse.
- Bake the brownies for 50 minutes.
- Cool brownies in pan. Once cool, remove from pan, and cut into 10 squares.
- Frosting Preparation:
- Only half of the brownies will be frosted.
- Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler.
- Stir in the sifted powdered sugar.
- Add enough hot water to enable the frosting to be piped through a pastry bag.
- Decorate half the brownies with a rosette tip with the piping bag and place an almond candy on top.
