Tortellini With Italian Sausage & Broccoli

  1. In a pot of boiling water cook the broccoli florets leaving them still a bit crisp (mine are over cooked to make it easier for the kiddos to eat). Remove from the water and reserve on the side.
  2. Cook the pasta to al dente according to the packaging.
  3. In a large saute pan, over medium heat, add the olive oil and saute the garlic until fragrant. Add in the sausage and using a potato masher break up into large chunks. Cook the sausage about half way.
  4. Add the broccoli and the broth and simmer for about 10 minutes. Place into large serving bowl.
  5. Toss in the pasta. Season with salt and pepper.
