Fresh Strawberry Cake

  1. Cream the butter, shortening and sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add strawberries and gelatin; beat well.
  3. Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with milk.
  4. Add vanilla; beat well.
  5. Fold in egg whites.
  6. Turn into 3 lightly greased and floured 8-inch cake pans. Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
  7. Frost with strawberry frosting.
  8. Yields three 8-inch layers.
