Savory Pork Rolls
- 6 pork shoulder steaks
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 2 c. soft bread crumbs
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. prepared mustard
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- Trim fat and remove bones from steaks.
- Pound to 1/2-inch thickness.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Stir egg and milk into bread crumbs. Add onion, mustard, poultry seasoning and salt.
- Mix well. Divide stuffing between steaks.
- Roll up and fasten with toothpicks.
- Coat with flour and brown in shortening. Remove to a 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish. Discard excess fat from skillet. Add water to drippings.
- Pour over rolls and bake, covered, in a 350u0b0 oven for 1 hour or until tender.
- Serve with Mushroom Sauce.
