String Bean Casserole
- 2 cans whole long Jack and the Bean Stalk green beans
- 1 single pkg. crackers, crumbled
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1 can dried French fried onions
- 1 c. sharp cheese, grated
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1/2 c. water
- Saute onion in melted butter.
- When soft, add cream of mushroom soup.
- Add soup first, then fill can with 1/2 cup water. Stir and mix well, then pour into onion, margarine and mushroom soup.
- Drain beans.
- Make 2 layers.
- Put 1 can green beans in casserole dish.
- Add 1/2 of sauce of onion, margarine and mushroom soup.
- Add 1/2 cracker crumbs.
- Add 1/2 grated cheese.
- Repeat for second layer.
- Top with can of dried French fried onions.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
