Party Cherry Salad
- 1 (No. 2) can pineapple pieces
- 2 c. (No. 1 can) Bing cherries, pitted
- 1/3 c. lemon juice
- pineapple syrup
- Bing cherry syrup
- 2 pkg. cherry jello
- 3 Tbsp. light cream
- 13 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 c. pecans or walnuts
- Drain pineapple and cherries.
- Add lemon juice and enough water to syrup to make 3 1/2 cups of liquid.
- Heat to boiling.
- Dissolve gelatin in hot liquid.
- Divide into 2 equal portions.
- Chill 1 portion until partially set.
- Add pineapple pieces.
- Pour into 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
- Chill until firm.
- Add cream to softened cream cheese.
- Spread over jello.
- Chill until firm.
- Chill remaining until thick.
- Add nuts and cherries.
- Pour over cream cheese mixture.
- Chill.
