Chocolate And Ginger Cookies
- 195 grams Plain Flour
- 1/4 teaspoons Salt
- 100 grams Caster Sugar
- 30 grams Cocoa Powder
- 3 teaspoons Ground Ginger
- 1/2 teaspoons Ground Cloves
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 2 teaspoons Bicarbonate Of Soda Or Baking Soda
- 100 grams Diced, Unsalted Butter
- 4 Tablespoons Golden Syrup
- 1. Preheat oven to 200u0b0C (390u0b0F) and prepare 2 large baking trays.
- 2. Put flour, salt, sugar, cocoa powder, ground ginger, ground cloves, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) in a food processor. Add butter and blitz until it resembles bread crumbs. Transfer to a bowl.
- 3. Gently warm golden syrup in a pan, then add to mixture in bowl and stir until a dough is formed.
- 4. Divide dough into 16 small balls (walnut-shaped) and place at least 2cm (about 1 inch) apart on the baking trays and then flatten slightly.
- 5. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Cool on the trays before transferring to a wire rack.
