Light-Wheat Sandwich Bread
- 1 cup Warm Water
- 2 Tablespoons White Sugar
- 1/4 ounces, weight Pkg. Bread Machine Yeast
- 1/4 cups Applesauce
- 2-1/2 cups White Flour
- 1/2 cups Wheat Flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoon Salt
- Spray pan to prevent sticking.
- Add warm water, sugar and yeast to pan of bread machine. Let the yeast dissolve for 10 minutes or until foamy/bubbling. Add the applesauce (use somewhere between 1/8 and 1/4 c), premixed flours, and salt to the yeast combination in the pan.
- Use these bread machine settings: Light crust, 1- 1 1/2 lb. loaf, basic or white bread. Then press start!
- *Note: I prefer to take the loaf out early (around 7-10 minutes) if I'm home. Otherwise, I think the bread crust gets too dark. I haven't figured out yet how to adjust the timer on the bread machine so that it can finish earlier.
- The bread machine cycle from start to finish is a little less than 3 hours.
