Cordial Cherry Cake
- 1 box Chocolate Cake Mix
- 1 can Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper
- 1 jar Maraschino Cherries
- 3 Tablespoons Liquid From Jar Of Cherries
- 8 ounces, weight Whipped Cream
- Dice about 12 cherries.
- In a large bowl, combine the cake mix (without the eggs and oil), the can of Dr. Pepper, the cherry juice, and the diced cherries. Mix well.
- Pour the batter into a a lightly greased 9x13 pan. (Or you can make cupcakes, just be sure to use liners.)
- Bake the cake at 350F until it is almost done, when a toothpick inserted comes out with a couple crumbs. (Use a bake time in accordance to instructions on the box.)
- Let the cake cool completely.
- When the cake is completely cooled, evenly spread the whipped cream over the top. It does not have to be neat.
- Place 16 cherries on top of the cake in even rows, so that when the cake is cut, there will be a cherry in the middle of each piece.
